This Site Is a Coral

This site is itself a Liefwork, and its own content management system. The frontend and the backend are — with the exception of some minor design elements — one and the same.

This exact file-and-folder structure exists on the authors' hard drive, where the work happens. The Liefwork engine renders it into the geometry you see. To publish a page, the authors write a file, place it in its folder, and push. To create a new branch, they create a new folder.

There is no database, no admin panel, no second copy of the content to fall out of date. Editing the folder is editing the site.

It also means that what you are navigating is the data itself. The map on the home page is not a diagram of the site — it is the site. The data and its organisation is the structure.
