A coral is not a viewer. Everything you can do to a file in the explorer, you can do to it here.

Click a node to open it. In the sidebar the click opens the note in your main editor, exactly as the file explorer would. In a full pane it opens the node's Preview instead — a panel on the coral itself where you can read the note, or add to the branch without leaving the map.

Right-click any node for the full menu: open in a new tab or to the right, rename, duplicate, delete, create a new note or a new sub-folder/branch.

Two commands are Liefwork's own, and they are the ones that shape a coral over time:

Promote to branch turns a lief into a branch. A note that has grown into a topic becomes a folder with the note as its folder note or "meristem", and can then grow liefs of its own. Demote to note reverses it exactly, folding a branch back into a single note.

That pair is how a coral stays honest as work develops. You never have to decide up front whether something is a note or a topic — you promote it when it earns it.

Cmd-click several nodes of the same kind to select them together, then act on the whole set at once.

Whatever you do here happens in your vault immediately, and the explorer shows it at once. There is no save step and no sync.
